Training

Training (short as well as long duration programs) constitutes the core activity of the Institute. One of the key functions with regard to training is to assess the training requirements of various categories of health personnel working in the department of Health and Family Welfare and develop appropriate training programs. It offers in-service training in Public Health ranging from 2 days to 4 -10 weeks for different categories of health personnel working in the department of Health and family Welfare. The objective of in-service training is to involve practicing managers in the field of health, family welfare and public health to share their experiences and develop appropriate programs for enhancing capacity. IIHFW also organizes training for trainers (faculty of RTCs & DTCs) and provides necessary help and guidance in planning and conducting training programs for field level functionaries.

In addition, IIHFW is also involved in organizing workshops, seminars and conferences as this gives an opportunity for theme-focused discussions. The faculty of the Institute also participates as resource persons/subject experts in different forums on issues concerning health, nutrition and family welfare.
