Documentation Center

The documentation center has a rich collection of over 5000 volumes of textbooks, reports and back volumes of research periodicals pertaining to Health and Family Welfare.

The library subscribes to about 100 popular and referred journals/periodicals of National and International importance.

The center provides access to all faculties on the latest global and scientific information in their areas of interest. Special CD-ROMs developed by national and international organizations, relevant to AIDS, Family Planning, Reproductive Health, Population, Health Reforms etc., also form a part of the documentation center.

The LIBRIS and CDS/ISIS software is utilized for documentation operations. So far, more than 25,000 articles from the journals are available in the CDS/ISIS software. Information search services are offered on POPLINE, the World’s largest bibliographic database on population, family planning, etc.

Important services of the documentation center include Reference Service, on-demand Search, Current Awareness Service (CAS), Newspaper Clipping Services and Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) Service. In addition, the documentation center is also equipped with the facility for photocopying of reference material to meet the needs of the faculty, program participants and students.
